The Canton Lottery Bonds are being pushed all up
and down the Coast, and are even being sent abroad: the total yet realised by their sale, or the amount from any one place, is not yet available: but they are said to be doing very well. They are said not to be for sale in Hongkong, and though no doubt some are here, there is no big business done in them.
The three notes attached were procured from Canton,

and the numbers are instructive.

allowing that the numbent,is straight forward. Whether this amount has been realised in Canton, or whether blocks of inside numbers have been sent abroad I have failed as yet to discover: but it woul seem that the smaller the note the greater its popularity. The big ones do not seem to be selling so well.
